I always know that life is never straight - forward for me. Sometimes, it is never this way because I chose it and sometimes it is God’s will. I would rather sacrifice anything just to see my parents especially my mum healthy.

Before I came back, she has been ill for a while now about 3 weeks. Didn’t get any better even though numerous trips to the doctor’s. She is weak amd she can’t eat anything. Has fever on and off despite taken her medication. I fear that her illness has relapsed.

She has polycystic liver disease in which hers is quite severe because her liver is covered all over by cysts and it can malfunction if the cysts grows bigger and overtake her liver’s function. This happened 3 years ago and she was truly near death until the doctor did a minor surgery to “make the cysts smaller”.

After that surgery, she recovered at tremendous rate and now it appears that the devil is at work again. It is not confirmed yet but she will go to the GH for another check-up and then we will know. In case any of you are wondering why we did not go to a specialist, it’s because we did the last time and we were referred back to the GH.

Also, they do provide very, very good service for my mum, which is good enough for me even though the wait is quite long for the follow-up consultations. Other than that no compaints. She was in KL Selayang hospital for nearly half year plus and we were charged about RM1k plus for all, on top of that we get specialist doctors too..so anyway, I just hope that it will not come to that again…

   Hey Sue, I’m so sorry to hear about your mum’s illness. My MIL had a tumour in her pancreas and undergone surgery at Selayang hospital. I must say the doctors and nurses there are great. Don’t worry so much, ok. btw, just to let u know, my MIL took a milk supplement called Immunocal (a product from Canada) and she is making good progress. Even the doctors were amazed. If you need more info, do let me know

    Oh no! Sorry to hear about your mom’s condition. With her condition, she needs plenty of rest and can’t be stressed out.
