I would like to wish all my Chinese friends and readers, and also those who celebrate Chinese New Year, A Happy and Prosperous Ox Year!! Lots of good health and wealth to all of you!!

I haven’t been back celebrating Chinese New Year for 5 years now….hopefully next year I will be able to. But I am still contented as I will be back to Malaysia in March for 2 MONTHS!!! YIPPEE!!!

All the good food that I miss and the family and friends…so hopefuly next year then…

We celebrated a low-key birthday as usual for hubby together with my MIL last weekend. I volunteered to cook for him instead of my MIL.

But after volunteering, I fall sick…hahaha…luckily I recover in time to cook for him. I cooked the main meal while MIL cooked the dessert; fruit trifle and baked the birthday cake.

Anyway, I bought lamb in blackcurrant  and rosemary sauce from Waitrose and then stuff it in the oven.

Hehe….I know, lazy eh…then I add some roast potatoes and some asparagus to it and voila! Meal ready..

Didn’t give him anything for his birthday….well lots of hugs and kisses and the meal…hehe. Besides it all comes out from the same pot so, don’t have waste money!

Before Christmas last year, we went to the Christmas markets in Machester and it was freezing.

Then I saw one of the loves of  life…MACAROONS!!! Or COCONUT MACAROONS!! Love them. These were hot and nice…melts in your mouth..yummy!

The freezing weather now makes me dream of my lovely macaroons..hmm….I wonder if I have to wait till Christmas this year to taste them again…

Well, Ian is still sick..well..recovering slightly. We went to the doctor’s and he’s got ear infection that is now settled in his ear canal or something..but that is what made his fever fluctuate up and down the other day.

Besides that, he’s got a cold and cough; basically what everyone’s been getting this winter. He’s still unwell but good to say that the fever is gone. See how grumpy he look…hehe..

Anyway, the weather have been below freezing most nights. Look at the snow on the car from 2 days before. This is what we have to do every morning before going out. You need at least 15 minutes to clear the frost or snow from the car. Not a very nice job to do when your fingers are numb with cold!!

Ian has been down with fever since last night. I can’t take him to the doctor’s because they don’t open during week unless it’s the hospital emergency services. No, thank you, we could end up waiting for hours.

So, I will wait for Monday. In the meantime it’s Calpol/paracetamol and Nurofen/Ibuprofen for him. Poor baby, he was drowsy the whole day, crying in pain. I suspect it’s tonsillitis, white spots at the back of his throat and etc…the usual stuff that he gets.

Even right now, he is still awake at 1030pm and just lying on the sofa. He didn’t want to go upstairs. So, looks like it’s camping in the living room tonight for us! Hope that he gets better tomorrow, but I doubt it. He needs his antibiotics! Just keeping my fingers crossed that he won’t get any worse…
