Knowsley Safari Park

*WARNING! Some explicit animal photos! Might offend some readers! Don’t proceed if you feel offended easily! Read at your own risk!Muahahaha….

On Saturday, we went to the Knowsley Safari Park which is a 550 acre Safari Park with a 5 mile safari drive. It is located in Prescot in Merseyside. It is on the way to Liverpool, about 40 miles from where I live. The Safari park is owned by The Rt Hon. the 19th Earl of Derby.

It was actually a spur at the moment kind of thing…didn’t really plan on going because we have to see how the weather is. Turns out, hot and sunny…The entrance was £12 per adult and £9 for kids over 3-12.

We had an enjoyable day out, we drove through the whole park…even went in the Monkey Jungle enclosed area. All the animals are free to roam around, we are not! Hehe…we have to follow the trail and rules.

We saw a lot of animals there, actually more than when I went on a real safari when I was in South Africa! I saw a number of lion and lioness which was roaming freely. Only the tiger is in a fenced area.

It was a real nice experience, I don’t mind doing it again. Ian was alright at first but when we went into the Monkey Jungle and we have the baboons climbing on our cars and sitting on top of the car or hanging by the window, he started screaming and hid/close his face and would not get up for the rest of the ride…haha…only when we were out from the Monkey Jungle then after much persuasion, he finally came out from hiding…hehe..

After we reach towards the end of the safari park, we went to the amusement park and to see more animals.

We also watched the sea lion show . Ian had a really good time at the amusement park, insisting on going on all the rides that is a car or train! Luckily they give out free drinks in bottles for the kids and adults.

The weather was really hot as hot as Malaysia but not so humid…still hot, was so tempted to take the umbrella..haha..then the English would probably think that I am out of my mind…hahaha…but I didn’t of course!

We were really tired after that, they had a couple of places like the lake farm and woodland walk that we didn’t go. But I think it was really worth the money. We might just get the season tickets. Another recommended outing to take kids!

I love Safari Park. Haven’t been to one that is a drive thru. I went to Singapore’s night safari 10 years ago and had a blast!
