Ian’s 2.5 Year Check

I took Ian to the Health Visitor for his 2 and the half year check. We discuss everything, from speech to sleeping habits. Also his development and his progress to see if he is progressing all right for his age.
Everything is fine except for his speech and as usual his eating habits. Ian has got the worst eating habits, he is very, very picky. Anyway, his speech is slow, but he goes to the speech therapist, so I hope he will improve very much soon.
Anyway, checked his height and weight, height is 99cm and 15kg. Height is considered tall for his age. Weight is alright. So, that’s it, then it’s off to the speech therapist on Friday.
Anyway, everyone who goes for the 2 and the half year checks are given the Sure Start pack which is a pack of books and crayon in a yellow file/bag. I will keep the crayon..haha…if not the walls will be filled with scribblings. Ian can have the books!

Wah so good got goodie bag some more.
Here apa pun tarak! LOL
haha, i hope he can speak more like his mom after the speech therapist…. so kapster…. wakakakaka.
Thank you for your support Sue.
I guess it is just a mother feeling
Ian is really tall for his age = ) Nora is so short, but she can be such a monster! heheh Good luck and hv fun with the speech therapy thingy Sue, i think its ok, different child for different blooming period for all of their abilities lah.
Wow, the clinic even gives books and crayons, how nice!
I also brought Alycia to the speech therapist when she was around Ian’s age. Is Ian taking the pacifier? Alycia was and the first thing which the ST said was to wean Aly off the pacifier and voila, within 1 week, she managed to pronounce those words which she had difficulty pronouncing.
Over time, her pronounciation improved and we stopped going to the ST after 3-4 sessions coz we felt it was a waste of money and time.
I think Ian’s speech will improve over time but you need to practise with him some lip exercises. Good luck
hey, when you said Ian’s speech is slow, what do you mean? Not speaking in sentences? Just want to know cos Ashley didn’t start talking until she reached 2. A lot of catching up too.
glad everything is ok….. hope he can speak more.. but tat time sure u’ll have more headache… he’ll ask mummy what this?, mummy what tat?… mummy y this happen like tat? haha…..
Health Freak Mummy- Yes, ian is having a pacifier…so I guess will have to wean him off.
Mommy to Chumsy- Ian doesn’t say anything at all only recently just started to say some words and call mama..his words is less than 50 or maybe less than 20. Slow lo..
I dun understand how kam need a speech therapist at such a young age? My son oso went to speech therapist, diagnosis are usually done at a much later age, e.g., around 5 or 6, because most kids at this time still pretty much talk “farnie” pronouncing Balloon as bayyoon, or pillow as piyyow.
not to worry Ian will be fine .
Now you got goodie bag it must be new thing is my kids day give nothing la .
Sue dear, hop over when u get a chance, i have a surprise for u
it’s happy when we can see our children grow like Nelson he is now 16 kg 95 cm
Hey.. Sue,
Chloe only started talking at about 3 yrs old.. she was making baby noises till then.. but like my MIL said.. in their own time. I wouldn’t worry so much .. if i were you.
Wah… so nice the way they look out for the kids there. My mom says my sis who resides there get supply of diapers and baby food too (or was it formula?) each time my sis has a new baby (she has 4 and my mom always go over during her confinement) but i always forgot to ask my sis when she comes back to Malaysia for visits. Is it true then or did my mom misinterpret?
Allthingspurple- Yea, your sis will probably get it. It depends on your financial situation as well..
